M83 Version 2

As is so often the case, once I post an image and get some feed back I go back over it again. Compare this version with the previous. What do you think?

For this version all I did was modify the processing in Photoshop.

First I applied a noise reduction tool called Noise Ninja. This helped tone down the background noise - although it also dimmed the fainter stars a bit more.

Next I used a tool in Photoshop called Shadow/Highlight. This made it simple to tone down the bright core of the galaxy and help show some of the colors better.

Finally I did some color balancing using the Levels and Curves tool.

I think the results speak for themselves!
